Szudrowicz, Rt. Rev. Msgr. Ignatius
Clergyman. Born in Poland 1880; at the age of two came with his parents to U.S. and settled in Salamanca, N.Y. Attended local parochial school and at 14 entered the Polish Seminary in Detroit, Mich., where he completed classical and philosophical courses. Theological Seminary of St. Joseph in Dunwoodie, N.Y.; was ordained in New York, N.Y., in 1905. From 1905-1911 assistant at St. Joseph's parish, Passaic, N.J. In 1911 appointed to organize St. Ann's parish in Jersey City, N.J. In 1914 transferred to St. Mary of Czestochowa, Jersey City. Later transferred as pastor to St. Anthony's parish, Jersey City, N.J. In 1931 elevated to the rank of Domestic Prelate by His Holiness, Pope Pius XI. In 1939 elected president of Polish Priests Association for Newark district.
