Dangiel, Stanislaus
Publisher, editor. Born in 1873 in Poland. In 1897 founded a weekly paper, "Straz," in Scranton, Pa., was its editor until 1901. In 1910 founded weekly paper, "Narodowiec," in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1911 founded "Haslo Poskie," in Pittsburgh, Pa. In 1912 founded Polish Daily News ("Wiadomosci Codzienne"), in Cleveland, Ohio, of which he was publisher until 1919. In Dec., 1912 was co founder of the Committee for National Defense (Komitet Obrony Narodowej), in Pittsburgh, Pa., to help Poland regain her independence. Considered one of the most ardent workers for Poland's cause. In 1919 left for Poland where he died in 1938.From: "Who's Who in Polish America" by Rev.
