Congratulations John Domzalski

On Thursday, Aprii 21, 2005, at the 51st Annual Meeting of the International Visitors Councii of Philadelphia (IVC), Philadelphia Health Commissioner John Domzalski received the IVC Citizen Diplomacy Award for his work with the Sister Cities Program (Philadelphia-Nizhny Novgorod, Russia).

In February, 2002, Mayor John F. Street appointed John Domzalski, JD, MPH, Commissioner ofthe Philadelphia Department of Public Health, where he directs a department of nearly 1000 employees.

Commissioner Domzalski has served the Philadelphia Department of Public Health in numerous positions, including Deputy Health Commissioner for Public Health Services, Director of Correctional Health, ChiefofFieId Operations, and District Health Director.

A member ofthe City of Philadelphia Emergency Management Planning Group since 1996, Domzalski was an early advocate of bioterrorism preparedness.

A graduate of Bloomsburg State College, Domzalski earned his Masters in Public Health at the University of Pittsburgh and his law degree at Tempie University School of Law.
