Drechney, John H.
Born in Chicago, Ill., 1895. Studied at St. Mary's College, Orchard Lake, Mich., DePaul University, Notre Dame University; degrees received: Ph.D., A.M. Valedictorian and Poet Laureate at De Paul, 1916. Honorable mention in the "Poets of the Future" for the poem "Nature's Smiles." Teacher of English, Polish, Latin, French and Social Science. Member of the faculty of St. Stanislaus College and Weber H.S. for 10 years. Since 1932 on the staff of J. Sterling Morton H.S. and Jr. College, Cicero, Ill. Contributor of poems and literary criticisms to various periodicals. Author of "Poland's Epic Struggle for Independence," a serial in Cicero and Berwyn Life.
