Drymalski, Paul
Banker, civic leader. Born Dec. 16, 1877, in Poznan, Poland. Came with parents to U.S. in 1880, and has lived in Chicago ever since. Education: St. Stanislaus parochial school, Chicago, local high school and Chicago Business College. In 1898, established his own coal business, which in 1907 was incorporated as Polonia Coal Company, and reorganized in 1923 with the capital of 250,000 dollars. President of this company. Member of Small Parks Commission. In 1933 appointed member of the Chicago Board of Education, and served until Jan. 6, 1936. In 1935 appointed member of the Board of Tax Appeals; in 1936 re-elected. Very active in charitable, fraternal and social endeavors. Member of the Executive Committee of the Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago. Served for ten years as director and treasurer of St. Hedwig's Orphanage and Industrial School, Niles, Ill. Director and vice-president of Home Bank and Trust Company, Chicago. Awarded the Cross of Knight of St. Gregory by Pope Pius XI. Chairman of the Finance Committee Century of Progress Committee. Member of P.N.A., P.R.C.U., Polish Alma Mater, Catholic Circle, K. of C., Illinois Athletic Club. Married May 29, 1907, to Susan Schweda; children: Raymond, Alvin, George. Address: 3650 N.
