Federkiewicz, Jane., Ph.D.
Artist painter. Born near Warsaw, Poland in 1901. When thirteen came to U.S. as Janina Dabrowska. Married Dr. John J. Federkiewicz of Boston, Mass. Studied under professor De Benedictis in Boston, Mass., and completed courses at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poland. In 1931 won the first prize in Boston, Mass. In 1937 exhibited 30 pictures in Boston City Club. Some of her paintings are: "Danusia" in Nations Hall, Museum of Fine Arts, Asbury Park, N. J.; "Zlota Ryba," "Niewolnica," "Martwa Natura," in Library of Fine Arts Theatre and Wilson Library. Paints flowers, portraits and landscapes. She painted carnation portrait of Anna Linken. Member of the Copley Society of Boston. She excelled in figure paintings, portraits, pastels. Her painting: "The Silent Prayer" attracted particular attention.
