Franzkowiak, Martin
Civic leader. Born in Poznan, Poland, Nov. 10, 1870. Came to America 1877. Landed in N. Y. Lived in Erie, Pa. one year and went to Milwaukee, Wis. in 1879. Began work in Tin Goods Mfg. Co. at the age of 11 1/2 years and worked there for 22 years. In 1905 started a retail grocery and tavern. Elected to the State Assembly three times from the 2nd district of Milwaukee County (1932-34-36); nominated the 4th time, but defeated by an Independent candidate. Belongs to many fraternal organizations. Residence: 2501 So. 15th St., Milwaukee, Wis.
