Friedel, Francis
Editor, author. Born 1870 in Marklowice, Poland. Educated in Poland. Edited "Glos Ludu Slaskiego" to counteract the Bohemian and the German influences, and organized libraries and dramatic societies to retain the Polish spirit. Author ot "The People's Lawyer." The latter was received by all Poland. This book taught how to make contracts, receipts, bills, wills, etc. Emigrated to U.S., settling in Chicago, Ill. in 1912. Helped organize Building and Loan Association of Greater Chicago; later chosen its secretary in which post he remained until 1927. In 1927 engaged by A. A. Paryski to become editor-in-chief of "Ameryka Echo," Toledo, 0., where he stayed till 1941. Address: 17247 Goddard St., Detroit, Mich.
