Gluchowski, Casimir
Journalist. Born in 1885 in Poland. Graduated from Gymnasium in Chyrow, Poland; attended Polytechnic Institute in Lwow, Poland. Came to U.S. in 1918: editor of "Strumien" in Westfield, Mass.; in 1910 co-editor of "Dziennik Narodowy," Chicago, Ill.; editor of "Dziennik Zwiazkowy," Chicago, III., 1911; chief editor of "Rekord Codzienny," Detroit, Mich., 1913; also chief-editor of "Kuryer" in Cleveland, 0., and co-editor of "Dziennik Polski," Detroit, Mich. In 1914 returned to Poland. Became first editor of "Monitor Polski," official organ of "Rada Regencyjna" and Polish Government, in Warsaw, Poland. In 1918 founded Polish Telegraphic Agency. First Polish consul in Curitiba, Brazil. In 1939 chief of Publicity Bureau, Gdynia-America Line in New York. Director of Polish Information Service. Chief editor of "Dziennik dla Wszystkich," Polish daily paper, in Buffalo, N. Y., 1940. Former president of Polish Publishers and Editors Ass'n in America. President of Press Committee of Polish Army in Canada. Married. Children: Maciej and Jadwiga Korsak. Wrote a pamphlet: "Na Marginesie Polski Jutra," 1940. Died Sept. 15, 1941 in Windsor, Canada.
