Professor. Born in Poland, 1836. Officer in charge of supplies for the Confederate Army during the Civil War in U.S. As a colonel scored chiefly at general headquarters in Richmond. Personally well acquainted with generals R. E. Lee, Jackson and Johnson. For forty years served as an educator. Commandant of the Pennsylvania Military College and Worcester Massachusetts Highland Military Academy. Superintendent of the Haskell Institute at Lawrence, Mass. President of Defiance College, Ohio.
