Grzybowski, John Marion

Electrical engineer. Born in Lublin, Poland, June 30, 1897. Son of Peter and Sophie Grzybowski. Graduate of Polytech. Institute of Petrograd (now Stalingrad) [Leningrad?] Russia, with high honors, 1920. Post graduate studies in high voltage elect. engineering, 1920-1925, Polytech. Inst. of Warsaw, Poland. E.E., 1922. Instructor of physics and elec. engin. at Polytech. Inst. of Petrograd, 1920-21; Ass't. Prof. of High Voltage, Electr. Engin. at Polytech. Inst. of Warsaw, 1921-1923. Member of various commissions of the Inst. of Electrical Engineers of Poland, 1921-1923. Westinghouse Electr. Mfg. Co. in general engineering and high voltage laboratories, 1923. Research Dept. engaged in work on magnetism and ferro magnetic materials, 1925-1931. Lecturer in Ind. Econ., 1931. Independent research work on technical and economical problems in field of power transmission and utilization 1932-1940. Associated with Stone & Webster, Engineering Corp. 1940 to date. Achievements: instrumental in the development of methods of testing high voltage insulators and in development of iron-silicon, iron nickel and iron-cobalt alloys. Author of various articles in Polish technical magazines. Member of Amer. Institute of Elect. Engineers Amer. Physical Society, Polish Institute of Electr. Engineer. Residence: Riverbank Court, Cambridge. Mass.
