Kanarek, Elias
Artist, painter. Born in Poland where he received his education and studied art. The government of Poland sent him to U.S. to decorate the Polish Pavilion at the New York World's Fair in 1939. Because of war hostilities in Europe was forced to remain in America. Received one thousand dollars a piece for painting three portraits in New York; this sum he turned over to the Polish War Relief Fund. At the invitation of Mrs. Clara Bloomfield came to Milwaukee, Wis. At the present time he is working for the British War Relief Committee, painting portraits. Address: 420 E.
