Karlowski, Victor
Soldier, civic leader. Took part in the Polish insurrection in 1863 against Russia. A soldier in the French Foreign Legion in Algeria and Mexico. Took part in the French-German War of 1870-71. In 1871 came to U.S. Settled in Chicago, Ill.; elected assemblyman from the State of Illinois,1885-86. Some of his writings are: "Z Przygod Tulacza," 1884, Chicago, and "W Oczach Smierci," 1885. Deceased.
