Bob H. Kazmier (Bogumil Kazimierowicz)

X-ray technologist

Born Warsaw, Poland, Apr. 18, 1908; son of Konstanty and Feliksa (Krawczynska) K.; married Ruth Winsome Strong (Australian); children: Henryk, Krystine, Andrea.

Education: Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), physical education; education diploma of Radiography, Melbourne Technical College; S.F. diploma in X-Ray Technology 1956; Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Spanish with minors in French and German.

Career: Teacher of physical education at A. Mickiewicz High School, Poznan 1932-39, and Poznan University, 1937-39; radiographer at Melbourne hospitals and Victoria State Health Department 7 years; X-ray technician St. Mary's Hospital and Fresno Community Hospital; chief technician and retired as part-time in Valley Children's Hospital, 22 years.

Author: Contributor of articles to professional journals.

Military: Army 2nd Lieutenant, took part in September 1939 campaign, Prisoner of War (POW) five years in Germany, rejoined Polish II corps in Italy 1945 and Polish Resettlement Corps in England.

Awards: several 1st prizes in state of California for X-Ray essays and exhibits; as ex-member of National Saber Team from Poland, participated in five Senior Olympics in fencing, Los Angeles, several gold medals; introduced saber fencing to Fresno City College and Fresno district.

Member of: Founder, Pulaski Polish Dancers of Fresno, president of Polish National Alliance (PNA), Lodge #3089,1988-, delegate to Ouadrennial National Convention of PNA, 1991, Polish Veterans of World War II, Stowarzyszenie Polskich Kombatantow (SPK) # 49; president, Fresno Society of X-Ray Technicians, 1 year; educational director, California Society of X-Ray Technicians, 2 years.

Avocations: Polish folk dances, dancing, teaching.

Resident: San Francisco, CA.
