Clergyman. Born October 1, 1906, in Poughkeepsie, N. Y. Attended St. Peter's Academy, 1912-1915, and St. Joseph's parochial school, Poughkeepsie, N. Y., from 1915 to 1920. Entered St. Stanislaus College, Chicago, Ill., in Jan., 1921. Graduated from St. Stanislaus College (now Weber H.S) in 1925. On March 15, 1925 entered Novitiate of the Congregation of the Resurrection, Cragin, Ill. After completion of Novitiate in Aug., 1926, matriculated at St. Louis University, St. Louis, Mo., where he received A.B. degree in 1929. Studied theology at St. Louis University for one year. In July, 1930 departed for Rome, Italy to continue his theological studies at the Gregorian University, conducted by the Jesuit Fathers. Ordained priest at St. Ignatins Church, Rome, Italy, by Cardinal Marchetti Selvaggiani, on July 10, 1932. In Nov., 1933 entered School of Canon Law of the Gregorian University, Rome, Italy. Received Doctorate in Canon Law. July, 1936. Title of dissertation: "De matrimonli celebratione per procuratorem." In Sept., 1936 began a teaching career at Resurrection Scholasticate. West Hyattsville, Md., affiliated with Catholic University of America. Professor of Moral Theology and Canon Law at Resurrection Scholasticate from 1936 to 1942. Superior and Rector of the Seminary from 1939 to 1942. Author of article, entitled "Direct Dissolution of a Legitimate Marriage by Papal Authority," published in the "Jurist," publication of the School of Canon Law, Catholic University of America, Washington, D.
