Klarkowski, Boleslaus
Physician. Born July 7, 1863 in Wiezow, Poland. Secondary education at Koronowo; graduated from Teachers College in Grudziadz, Poland. In 1884 came to Chicago, Ill., and was engaged as a teacher at St. Stanislaus Kostka parochial school for 20 years. Entered Illinois Medical School, University of Chicago and graduated in 1904. From May 26, 1919 to May 23, 1923 member of the Chicago Board of Education; also member of the School Administration, Health and Sanitation and the Building and Ground Committees. Since 1885 member of P.R.C.U., secretary at several National Conventions of that organization. Former chief medical examiner of P.R.C.U. Wrote: "Zarys Historji Polskiej" (The Polish History), published by "Spolka Nakladowa Wydawnictwa Polskiego," Chicago, Ill. In 1885 married Ann Schultz; had three daughters: Sophie, Ursuline and Stanislawa, and one son, Stanislaus H. He was instrumental in organizing the Polish Alma Mater.
