Kolasa, John Joseph
Educator. Professor. Born in Barnesboro, Pa. Elementary education at St. Stanislaus parochial school, Barnesboro. In 1912 a student of Alliance College at Cambridge Springs, Pa. From 1915 to 1919 attended St. John Kanty College, Erie, Pa. In 1919-20 at Junior College. St. John Kanty, Erie, Pa. From 1920 to 1923 studied and graduated from Harvard University with A.B. degree in Chemistry. Graduated in 1936 from the Niagara University, Graduate School with M.A. degree. On July 1, 1937 elected president of Alliance College at Cambridge Springs, Pa., when he resigned from the professorship in St. John Kanty College, Erie, Pa., where he was professor and dean of Chemistry and Biological departments from 1923 to 1937, and director of physical education from 1926 to 1937. From 1936 until 1938 took evening courses at Pittsburgh University, Pittsburgh, Pa. Author of a book: "The Evolution of the Movement Towards Independence in Modern Poland."
