Konopa, John F.
Physician. Born in Chicago, Ill., in 1908. Son of John S. and Anna Konopa. Education: St. Helen's parochial school, 1921, Archbishop Weber High School, 1925; College of Arts and Sciences, Loyola University; graduate of College of Medicine, Loyola University, Chicago, Ill., 1933. Served two years as interne at St. Mary's Hospital and St. Francis Hospital, Blue Island, Ill. Married Caroline Longhini in 1936. Began practice of medicine opening own office in Manistee, Mich. In the beginning of 1941 called to active service in the US Army; commissioned first lieutenant in the Medical Corps; stationed at Port Custer, Mich.From: "Who's Who in Polish America" by Rev.
