Koprowski, William
Pianist. Born in New York City, March 17, 1914. Graduate of Dickinson High School, Jersey City, N. J. Commenced musical studies at an early age with Stanley Kaniecki. Winner of New Jersey League Gold Medal in 1939 in state wide contest for pianists. In 1932 awarded Government of Poland Scholarship to study at the National Conservatory of Music in Warsaw. Studied piano with Zbigniew Drzewiecki, and theory with Casimir Sikorski. After completion of studies, concertized in various European cities. Returned to U.S. in 1939 and appeared in concerts in the East. Conducts a studio at 284 Union Street, Jersey City, N. J. Residence: 208 Clinton Street, Jersey City, N. J.
