Kopytkiewicz, Rt. Rev. Msgr. Marian
Roman Catholic clergyman. Born in Zakliczyn, Poland, May 30, 1863. Ordained to holy priesthood in Cracow, Poland, December 27, 1886. Came to U.S. and was incardinated to the Diocese of Philadelphia, Pa., June 11, 1892.
First assignment as pastor of St. Stanislaus Church, Philadelphia, Pa. Soon thereafter started organizing a new parish in Bridesburg section of Philadelphia, where he created a new parish known as St. John Kanty Church. For his services to the Catholic Church His Excellency Cardinal Dougherty appointed him diocesan consultor. Pope Benedict XV elevated him to the rank of Domestic Prelate with the title of Right Reverend Monsignor. Died March 3, 1932.s From: "Who's Who in Polish America" by Rev.
