Kosakowski, Chester
Merchant. Born in Pittsburgh, Pa., September 13, 1907. The son of Stanislaus and Anastazia Kosakowaki. Education: parochial school attended in Cliffside, N. J., and later in Windber, Pa. Graduate of Windber High School. Studied at St. Francis College, Loretto, Pa. In 1928 he settled with his parents in Bayonne, N. J. After the death of his father founded "Bayonne Food Center" and a few years later founded another establishment known as "Sunnyside Meat Market" in Bayonne, N. J. Married Mary O'Brien in 1933; father of three children: Margaret, Joan and Casimir. Member: Polish National Alliance of U.S. of North America, Holy Name Society, Polish National Alliance of Brooklyn, Polish-American Chamber of Commerce, Elks, Eagles, Rotary, Junior Chamber of Commerce, Merchant Board of Trade, Mainhart Association, Sportsmen Club Association and numerous other organizations. Roman Catholic, Candidate for city commissioner in Bayonne during 1943 election.
