Kozlowski, Edward, Most Rev. Bishop
Born on November 21, 1860, in Tarnow, Poland. Primary and secondary education in Tarnow. Militia service in Tarnow one year. Attended University of Vienna. Came to U. S. in 1885, and settled in Chicago, Ill. Studied theology at St. Francis Seminary, St. Francis, Wis.; ordained June 29, 1887. Appointed assistant at St. Brigid parish, Midland, Mich. Pastor of St. Joseph's parish, Manistee, Mich. Here he built a new parochial school, a parish house and founded a parish library with about 1000 books. In 1900 appointed pastor of St. Stanislaus Kostka parish, Bay City, Mich., where he built also a new parochial school. On January 14, 1914 appointed pastor of St. Stanislaus parish, Milwaukee, Wis. Consecrated Auxiliary Bishop of the diocese of Milwaukee, Wis., in 1914. Died on August 7, 1915 in Milwaukee, Wis.
