Sculptor, painter, architect and writer. Born March 25, 1836 in Warsaw, Poland. Elementary and secondary education received in Warsaw, theology in Bononia, Italy. Ordained in 1863 Took part in Polish insurrection as a chaplain in 1863 against Russia. Fled through Asia, Palestine, Egypt; in 1872 came to U. S., settling in New York, N. Y. Later went to Cincinnati, Ohio. Here founded St. Rose of Lima parish in 1872, and was its first pastor until 1877. From 1877 to 1884 pastor of St. Hyacinth Parish, LaSalle, Ill.; in 1884 founded St. Josephat's Parish, Chicago, Ill., and was its first pastor until 1889. In 1889 became pastor of St. Cyril and Methodius Parish. In 1877 built an orphanage in LaSalle, Ill. Some of his writings are: "Antychryst," "Przeniesienie Domku Loretanskiego," "Sobieski pod Wiedniem," "Sw. Mikolaj," "Powstanie w r. 1863." Deceased.From: "Who's Who in Polish America" by Rev.
