Kozuch, Thaddeus
Pianist. Professor. Composer. Born in Chicago, Ill., the son of Valentine Kozuch. Made his first debut in 1937 in Chicago. Studied composition under Anderson, Dunkelberger and Gruenberg. Won a first prize in the contest of young musicians of Chicago in 1939. Composed: "The Mask of the Red Death," composition for choir and ballet, based on Edgar Poe's story. Composed a "Rhapsody," violin composition based on Polish themes for which he was awarded the first prize of 200 dollars in 1938 by the Council of the American Poles.
