Krawiec, Harriet Jadwiga
Painter. Born in Chicago. Daughter of Joseph and Anna Jendrzejek Korzeniewska. Education: St. Hyacinth parochial school, Chicago, Ill.; Longwood Academy, Chicago, Ill.; Studied art in the Academy of Our Lady under Sister Stanisia. Later continued her art studies at the Chicago Art Institute, painting mostly flowers. In 1927 gained recognition at the Art Institute of Chicago. Exhibited her work at Corcoran Gallery, Washington. D. C., Carnegie Institute, National Academy, N. Y. C., Philadelphia and Oklahoma City. Her most outstanding work is: "The Bronze Elephant." Awards received: "Silver medal," World's Fair Poznan, Poland, 1929; Polish National Alliance medal at Polish Arts Club exhibited in Chicago, 1932; LL. Valentine at Chicago Galleries, 1936; All Illinois Society, 1933; Illinois Academy of Fine Arts, 1931; Municipal Art League at Art Institute, Chicago, 1937. Married Ladislaus Krawiec.
