Kresenski, Raymond
Poet. Son of Polish and German parents. He has lived in Iowa all his life and was graduated from the Algona, Iowa, schools, took a B.A. degree at Coe College, Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Bachelor of Divinity degree at a Seminary in Chicago. He is the author of a book of poems called "Emmaus". The title of the book is taken from the gospel story in Luke which shows Jesus walking along the road to Emmaus. The poems are religious in tone but their human sympathy and tenderness make them appealing even to those who lay claim to no religion. His poems, reviews and articles have appeared in many secular and religious publications, such as the Commonweal, Catholic World, College Humor, Better Homes and Gardens, Household Magazine, Poetry, The New York Times, New York Sun and others; they have been included in many anthologies.
