Krol, Monika Ph.D.

Director of the Polish-American Cultural Center in Washington, DC.

Dr. Krol brings to the Center curatorial and managerial expertise from the United States and Europe. She is a Polish American, born in Warsaw, who received her graduate education from the University of California in Davis and Los Angeles (UCLA). After earning a Ph.D in art history from UCLA, she has devoted her professional career to her passion for art and culture. She served as a Curatorial Assistant at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art for four years, later becoming the Gallery Director at the Austrian Embassy in Berlin. While Curator at the Royal Castle in Warsaw, she launched an international research program to locate works of art that were missing from the collection of Poland's last king, Stanislaw August Poniatowski (1764-1795).
