Kruczek, Rev. Stanislaus J.
Born August 29, 1881, Krakow, Poland, son of Jan and Zofja Lenczewska Kruczek. Secondary education in the Gymnasium of St. Ann, Krakow. Studied Philosophy and Law, at Jan Kazimierz University Lwow, Poland. Studied theology at Innsbruck, Austria. Upon his arrival in U. S. was incardinated in the Newark diocese. Assistant at St. Joseph's parish. Pastor in Lyndhurst, N, J., for five years; studied law at Fordham University, N. Y. C. On March 5, 1918 appointed pastor of Our Lady of Rosary parish, Passaic, N. J., where he officiated until his death; built all the parish buildings; took care of Polish youth; rendered services to Independence of Poland; his parish bought $186,000 worth of Polish bonds. In 1936 appointed honorary Colonel of Polish Army; decorated with the order of "Polonia Restituta". In 1919 awarded by the Pope with a medal Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice. In 1926 became Commander of "Pro Mercede"; in 1926 honorary Canon of Cathedral of Kielce in Poland. In 1929 the Papal Council decorated him with Lateranian Cross. Member of Diocesan Building Committee and Diocesan School Board of Paterson, N. J. Died on November 23, 1941 in Passaic, N. J.From: "Who's Who in Polish America" by Rev.
