Kruszka, Edward J.
Engineer, professor. Born October 2, 1891 in Eastlake, Michigan, the son of Michael Kruszka and Helen Wieczorek-Kruszka. Attended public school in Eastlake, Michigan, St. Joseph's Parochial School, Manistee, Mich., and Manistee High School in 1910. Graduated from the University of Michigan School of Engineering, in 1915 with B.S. and M.S. degrees. Until 1912 worked for various industrial concerns. When the Technical Institute of Alliance College, at Cambridge Springs, Pa., was founded, engaged as a professor of mathematics and drawing until 1917. From 1917 to 1928, professor of mathematics, mechanics, drafting, and trade theory at the same institute. Director of Institute from 1929 to date. Married S. Bentkowski in 1915, and have two children: Alice and Henry. In 1918 instructor in U. S. Army training school. In 1917 instructor for the Officers Training School (Polish Army Falcons). From 1919 to 1922 contributed much to the Rehabilitation work of U. S. Government. (U. S. Army veterans). Co-author of books on "Machine Shop Theory" and "Mathematics" (with J. S. Kozaczka).
