Krzesinski, Rev. Andrew John, Ph.D., S.T.D.
Writer and professor. Born near Cracow, Poland, November 20, 1884. University of Cracow awarded him a degree of Doctor of Theology in 1919, and in 1923 the same university granted him a degree of Doctor of Philosophy. Professor agrege of Philosophy at the Jagiellonian University in Cracow since 1924. Undertook post-graduate studies in Rome, Paris, London, Berlin and Leipzig. Travelled extensively through Japan, China, India, etc., to study the religion, philosophy and customs of these countries. Author of numerous monographs on philosophy published in the Polish, French and English languages. (Reality, Knowledge and Truth in the History of Philosophy: Une Nouvelle Philosophie de lImmanence and others.) Author of a book entitled "Is Modern Culture Doomed?" published in 1942 in New York. Came to U.S. in October, 1939. Visiting professor at Villanova College during the summer session of 1942. Professor of Philosophy in Laval University since 1943. Scholar and writer. Member of the Philosophical Societies in Poland and U.S.A. Member of the Polish Institute of Arts and Sciences in America. Elected member of Gallery of Living Catholic Authors in 1942 for his contributions to Catholic literature. Address: 332 West 23rd St., New York City.
