Krzycki, Leo
Labor leader. Born in Milwaukee, Wis., August 10, 1881. Completed his elementary and secondary education in Milwaukee. He was employed as a lithographer. In 1912 he was elected alderman to the City Council of Milwaukee. In 1918 he was appointed assistant sheriff and in 1920 was elected sheriff. Former chairman of Socialist Party in the U. S. At present he is vice-president of C.I.O. and national president of Slavonic Congress to which post he was elected at a convention held in 1942. He is one of the most prominent labor leaders in the United States and the only Pole holding a high office in the American labor movement.
