Author: School Strikes in Prussian Poland, 1901-1907, 1981; The Foreign Worker and the German Labor Movement. Xenophobia and Solidarity in the coal Fields of the Ruhr, 1871-1914, 1994; numerous articles on Polish and Polish - German history in professional journals.
Member of: American Association for the Advancement of Slavic Studies (AAASS); board member, Polish Museum, Chicago; Polish Institute of Arts and Sciences of America (P.I.A.S.A; Polish Studies Association.
Honors: fellowship, American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS) and Social Science Research Council, 1977-78, 1987-88.
