Kwasigroch, Rose
Opera singer. Born in Chicago, Ill., daughter of Peter and Paulina Kiolbassa. Education: Sacred Heart Academy, Chicago, Ill, and Chicago Musical College. Student of Bandrowski, Edward de Reszke and Mme. Sembrich-Kochanska. Appeared in operatic arias under the baton of Theodore Thomas, founder and first conductor of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Soloist for many years at Holy Name Cathedral in Chicago. From 1890 to 1900 sang at St. Stanislaus Church. Appeared in many opera roles; decorated by the Alliance of Polish Singers of America and Alliance of Polish Singers in Warsaw, 1905. Honorary member of Supreme Council of Singers in Poland.
