Nering, Agnes
Concert-singer, music teacher. Born, nee Wojtalewicz, 1876, Chicago, Ill. Education: Holy Trinity School and Holy Family Academy, Chicago, Ill. In 1909 graduated from the Chicago Musical College after studying under professor Felix Borowski. On Nov. 28, 1909 appeared in a grand concert at the St. Stanislaus Auditorium, Chicago, Ill. Pupil of Antoni Mallek, Polish musician and composer in Chicago. Studied abroad, in 1911-1913. On her return to America founded a School of Vocal Art and Dancing in Chicago. Taught music at Holy Family Academy, Chicago, Ill. In 1916 the Polish Singers Association of America at the National Convention elected her as an honorary member of the association. Married to John Nering on June 19, 1898. Member of St. Stanislaus Choir and Dramatic Club of Chicago. Died November 22, 1922 in Chicago, Ill.From: "Who's Who in Polish America" by Rev.
