Worked as a machinist and shoeworker for eight years. Attended the old German-English Academy for three years and Marquette University from 1924 to 1927; practicing dentistry since 1927. World War I veteran. President of Alliance Building and Loan Association since 1932. Defeated candidate for school director in 1937. Member of American Legion, Veteran of Foreign Wars.
