Radecki (Radetzki), Gustave
Captain in Civil War. Captain of the 1st Cavalry of Texas. Enlisted June 15, 1862 as a private of 3rd Cavalry of Massachusetts. On Dec. 8, 1862 transferred as lieutenant to 2nd Cavalry of Texas. In Sept. 1864 transferred to 1st Cavalry of Texas. On Sept. 10, 1864 appointed First Lieutenant and later commissioned Captain on Sept. 26, 1864. Distinguished himself in many battles, including Fort Fisher and Williamsburg. Honorably discharged on October 31, 1865. Again enlisted in the regular army and served as lieutenant until 1873. Deceased.
