Reszke, Edward August
Opera singer. Born December 22, 1853 in Warsaw, Poland. Son of John Miecislaus and Emily (Ufniarski) Reszke. His name was written as: Reszke, Reschke, Reschker, Reszkowski; brother of the famous Jean, made his debut in Paris in 1876; visited U.S. several times, filling chief bass roles in grand opera. Sang in French, German, Italian, Polish and Russian. Made three records for the Columbia Phonograph Company, Inc., of New York. Died in 1917.
