Rogacki, Francis J.
Civic leader. Born Dec. 14, 1887 in Poland, came to Milwaukee, Wis., with his parents in 1890. Enlisted in the U. S. Navy in 1907 and made the trip around the world with the American Fleet, 1907-1909. Upon his discharge from the U. S. Navy, represented Lash Inc. throughout the U.S. to this date; during this entire period he has been active in Polish organizations as well as local and state affairs. Instrumental in electing the first Polish American congressman in America. Attended as a delegate two Polish National Alliance conventions. One of the organizers of the Pulaski Council in Milwaukee, Wis., its director for 10 years. Director of the State Building and Loan Association for 24 years. In 1932 appointed by the governor of Wisconsin to the State Athletic Commission in Wisconsin, and again reappointed in 1937 to 1942. The first Polish American appointed to a State Commission in Wisconsin, and the first and only Boxing Commissioner of Polish extraction in the United States. Married: one son.
