Rostenkowski, Joseph Peter
Civic leader. Born Sept. 15, 1892, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Peter and Catherine (Giersz) Rostenkowski. Attended St. Stanislaus College, Metropolitan College; former Senatorial Committeeman State Representative of the 27th Senatorial district; lately alderman of the 3rd Ward, Chicago, Ill.; delegate to the National Committee of the Democratic Convention; Chairman of the Committee of Police and Municipal Institutions and member of the Committee on Rules, Finance, Health, Housing, License and Traffic and Public Safety Committees in Chicago City Council. Married on Feb. 8, 1918 to Priscilla Dombrowski; three children. Member of the Polish National Alliance; Polish Roman Catholic Union; Polish Alma Mater; interested primarily in the Polish youth. He is responsible for many playgrounds, etc. Contributed much toward the Polish Relief Fund and the American Red Cross to aid war stricken Europe.
