1996 Grand Marshal of the Pulaski Day Parade in Philadelphia

Each year the Polish American Congress, Eastern Pennsylvania District, Pulaski Day Parade Committee selects a community activist as its Parade's Grand Marshal. The 1996 Pulaski day Parade in center city Philadelphia will take place on Sunday, October 6th.

This year the Polish American Congress is pleased to recognize the work and accomplishments of Mrs. Irene Ruczynski, President of the Adam Mickiewicz Polish Language School, an individual who has worked tirelessly for the benefit of our area youth since 1959.

Mrs. Irene Ruczynska has served the Polish American Community with distinction, helping maintain the Polish language, traditions and culture of the Polish people for future generations. The Adam Mickiewicz Polish Language School is located at the Associated Polish Home, 9150 Academy Road in Northeast Philadelphia. Mrs. Ruczynska, her children and grandchildren remain active with the school which has been serving the Polish American Community for more than 70 years.
