Born Meriden, CT, Sept. 17, 1907; son of Franciszek (born Plock, Poland) and Marianna (Sitkowska, born Plock, Poland) U.; married Solomea Dudzik.

Education: 4th grade, Catholic grade school, Montreal, Canada then Irish school to age 10.

Languages: English, French, Polish.

Career: At age 11, shoe salesman in Montreal. Then primarily machine shop, last 16 years. Los Angeles Unified School District as custodian. Retired.

Military: U.S. Army, World War II, Asiatic-Pacific, PFC.

Member of: Holy Name Society, secretary, Polish American Historical Association (PAHA) Southern California, Polish American Congress (PAC) Anti-Defamation.

Awards: Purple Heart - Silver Star.

Avocations: reading, mountain hiking.

Resident: Cherry Valley, CA.
