Zand, Stephen J.
Engineer and inventor. Born in Lodz, Poland in 1896. In 1925 came to America. In 1932 received Golden Medal for his contribution to airplane development from the Council of American Engineer. His invention lessened the noise of the motors in the passenger planes. Presently (1943) is engaged by the Sperry Gyroscope Company in Brooklyn. N.Y. Residence: 82 Tennis Place, Forest Hills, N. J.
