Zaremba, Sylvia
Concert pianist. Born in Springfield, Mass, in 1931. Her first full length recital was given before a huge audience when she was only eight years old and in 1941 she appeared as soloist with the Women's Symphony Orchestra of Boston playing the Mozart A major concerto. Of this appearance the Boston Herald commented: "She seems to be a child whose musical talent will be well worth watching it was a remarkable performance." In March, 1941, made her Town Hall, New York City debut and astonished the press and public by her extraordinary music understanding and technical mastery. The New York Times reported: "She proved to be a friendly, self-assured little girl who played beautifully as well as skillfully ... she has sensitive artistic feeling and an exceptional grasp of style. She approached each work in its own style, rhythms were excellent and she revealed herself the mistress of a subtle and widely variegated tonal palette." During the summer of 1942 appeared before an audience of five thousand as soloist with the Summer Orchestra in Cleveland. As a result of this enormously successful appearance was immediately re-engaged to appear two weeks later at a second concert. A student of Mme.
