Zawadzki, Edward (Eddie), writerAuthor of book: The Poles in the New World, please visit Eddie Zawadzki's website at www.polesworld.com
The book covers the lives of 50 Poles and their impact on North American society.
One of his Zawadzki ancestors may have been a standard bearer under King Jan III Sobieski.
A presentation by Canadian author Eddie Zawadzki of Toronto was the highlight of the Thurs., Aug. 11 monthly meeting of the Polish Genealogical Society of New York State (PGSNYS). His book, The Poles in the New World is now in its fourth printing. Approximately 50 people were in attendance at the Villa Maria College cafeteria in Cheektowaga.
Eddie, the youngest son of Polish immigrants, was accompanied by his 92-year-old mother, a survivor of the Nazi horrors of WWII. He has met with his family in the "old country" and encouraged everyone to visit the ancestral homeland. He showed appreciation and admiration for one of the most cherished traits of the Polish people, that being generous hospitality. It was immediately obvious that he recognized us all as fellow Poles with commonality in culture and heritage transcending any political boundaries between the two nations.
