Zielinski, Rev. Eugene, O.M.C.
Clergyman. Born in Holyoke, Mass. The son of Mr. and Mrs. John Zielinski. Education: graduate of Joseph Metcalf school and of Holyoke High School in 1927. Joined the Franciscan Order and studied for a year at a Franciscan seminary at Buffalo, N.Y., and also studied at St. Hyacinth Seminary, Granby, Mass., before going to the Franciscan Seminary in Cracow, Poland, to complete his studies. Ordained to the holy priesthood in Cracow, Poland, May 6, 1934, by Rt. Rev. Prince Sapieha, Bishop of Cracow. Upon ordination he took a post-graduate course at the University of Warsaw, specializing in Polish history, literature and journalism. Returned to U.S. in 1935 and since that time until 1942 was co-editor of the publication "Kronika Seraficka," published at Hartland, Wis., and at the same he was engaged in missionary duties. In 1942 he volunteered as an Army chaplain and was commissioned a first lieutenant in the Army Air Corps.From: "Who's Who in Polish America" by Rev.
