Ziemianski, Walter C.
Chemist. Educated in Boston, Mass., where he attended Chauncy Hall, the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy, and Boston University. Formerly associated as a chemist with the Paccini Laboratories. Now (1943) associated with the Archer-Daniels-Midland Company of Minneapolis, Minn. He discovered that the true natural wheat flavor, ordinarily found in whole wheat bread, is lost in the modern process of milling white flour. He found that the precious oils contained in the wheat germ which is removed in the regular milling process contained the true flavor of wheat. His discovery of natural flavor for bread is today revolutionizing the baking industry.
