Zienkiewicz, Sister Mary Juliette
(1912 - 2007)NEW JERSEY - Funeral services for Sister Mary Juliette Zienkiewicz were held at the Felician Sisters' Infirmary (Our Lady of Lourdes Hall) Chapel in Lodi on Monday morning, October 8. Following the Mass of Christian Burial, Sister was laid to rest in the Felician Sisters' Cemetery in Lodi. There was an evening prayer service Sunday, also at Our Lady of Lourdes Hall Chapel. Sister Juliette died on Friday, October 5, 2007 at the age of 95 after 76 years of religious commitment.
The former Veronica Zienkiewicz, Sister Juliette was born and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey. She entered the postulancy of the Felician Sisters in Lodi, New Jersey on May 24, 1931, and received the Felician habit on August 21, 1932. She made first religious vows on August 22, 1933 and professed final vows on August 15, 1939.
Sister Juliette's professional background included a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Seton Hall University.
Sister Juliette was an elementary educator from 1931 through 1983 and ministered in schools staffed by the Felician Sisters in Maryland, New Jersey, Delaware, and Pennsylvania. From 1983 to 1995 Sister Juliette ministered at Saint Joseph Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. In 1995 she entered the infirmary of the Felician Sisters in Lodi, New Jersey, because of her declining health.
Sister Juliette is survived by her sister Helen Brown of Massachusetts and by several members of her extended family.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Shook Funeral Home, Clifton, NJ.
