Zybura, Rev. John Stanislaus, Ph.D.
Clergyman, author. Born in Cleveland, 0. Received degrees in philosophy from many universities, in different countries, and from the Pope himself. Organizer and pastor of St. Stanislaus Church in Cleveland, Ohio. Pastor in Lorain, Ohio, from Aug. 9, 1908, until Sept. 20, 1911. Wrote seven books in English, which were translated in many Ianguages: 1924, "Contemporary Godlessness"; 1925, "The Problem of Evil and Human Destiny"; 1926, "The Key to the Study of St. Thomas"; 1927, "Present Day Thinkers and the New Scholasticism": 1929, "Progressive Scholasticism"; 1930, "Introduction to the Theological Summa of St. Thomas"; 1931, "The Perennial Vitality and Timeliness of the Philosophy of St. Thomas," "Scholasticisms and Science." Elected member of the "Gallery of Living Catholic Authors," the only Polish author to receive such distinction up to 1941. Due to illness, spent the last twenty years of his life in St. Francis Hospital. Colorado Springs, Colo., where he died October 7, 1934.
