Hordych, Rev. Ladislaus
Born in Dunkirk, N. Y. in 1873. Educated at St. Stanislaus Parochial School Canisius H.S. and College. Studied philosophy and theology at Polish Seminary, Detroit, Mich. and Niagara University, Niagara Falls, N. Y. Ordained in 1898. Assistant at St. Stanislaus Church, Buffalo, N. Y., 1898-1901. Organized St. Josephat's Church, Cheektowaga, N. Y. Became pastor of Assumption Church, Black Rock, N. Y., where he built a large church and school. After some years, he resigned and became pastor of St. Mary's Assumption Parish in Albion, N. Y., where he remained four years and resigned because of bad health. In 1938 he entered the novitiate of the Franciscans. Took the solemn vows in 1939. At present, is stationed at Corpus Christi Church, Buffalo, N. Y. Residence: 199 Clark St., Buffalo, N. Y.
