Sculptress, artist. Studied art in Paris, France under the guidance of Emil Bourdell. World War I disrupted her studies and she was forced to spend her time in Moscow and London. After the World War I she returned to Paris. For her beautiful sculpture of a Madonna she was admitted as a member of the Art Gallery in Paris, became famous as a sculptress in Italy, where she exhibited her work and remained for ten years. During her stay in Italy she painted several portraits and made a series of sculptures and art decorations; was awarded a medal in Padua, Italy, for her sculpture of an angel; came to U.S. in 1933 and soon thereafter became famous for her statuary monuments, among them works in bronze, wood, marble and granite.
